Montana Art Works specializes in unique masonry construction, especially drystacked stone, slate patios and steps. Helena, Montana, has many 19th century stone retaining walls that are suffering from deterioration and neglect. Most initially drystacked walls have been tuck pointed in order to keep them standing. Many of those "fixes" have failed and need to be dismantled and rebuilt. We can reconstruct tapered walls, curved walls, round stairwells, reset stone treads and wall capstones. We have source materials to match existing constructs.
If uniqueness is what you're after, Art is our middle name. No project is too complex or detailed for us. We build ponds and stream beds, tall stone works, elaborate terraces for planting beds accessed by slate stairways. We have moved stone fireplaces and carved enry arches, reinstalling them at distant locations.
Montana Art Works is a general contractor. We know the right professionals to complete your project including quality design and installation of native plant materials, accent lighting and irrigation systems to keep your landscaping alive and well in our semiarid, Montana climate.
